The Great Council of Venice deliberates on the offered subjection of the Commune of Piran and decides to accept it.

Izvornik
The original register of the Great Council that covered this period, reg. 5: Luna, Zaneta, Pilosus, lost the first sixteen folios, which featured this decree as well. Luckily, a 17th-century copy of this register exists which covers this period and features the copy of this decree:
B = Venice, Archivio di Stato di Venezia, Maggior Consiglio, Deliberazioni, reg. 6: Luna, Zaneta, Pilosus (copia) I parte, fols. 21v–22v; 17th-century copy of reg. 5.

The official ratification of the subjection of Piran promulgated by Venetian Doge Giovanni Dandolo on the same day – edited here as doc. 1283_SP.

Opaske urednika

De Franceschi (cited above) made several errors when interpreting this Venetian acceptance of Piran's subjection. First, the acceptance was promulgated by the Great Council and not by the Senate. Second, the date of this acceptance is January 26 and not January 23 as De Franceschi has it. Finally, the doge ratified the acceptance on the same day as the Great Council officially accepted the subjection (see doc. 1283_SP).
