Patriarch Gerard donates a mill in Buzet in River Mirna, previously owned by a certain priest Martin, to the monastery of St. Peter the Apostle in Karst (in Vižinada by Buje); witnessed by Maynard I of Gorizia, appearing here for the first time as the advocate of the Patriarchate of Aquileia.

Izvornik
The original is lost; the text survives only as a 15th-century copy of a copy from 1230:
C = Venice, Archivio di Stato di Venezia, San Nicolò di Lido, Atti, busta 1: Catasticum Histrie, p. 12, doc. 17; a 15th-century copy based on the copy made by a notary Ardengus in May of 1230.
Izdanje
Gian Rinaldo Carli, Appendici di documenti spettanti alla parte quarta della Antichità Italiche (Milan 1791), p. 192; based on an unknown copy.
Pietro Kandler, “Codice diplomatico istriano [sub anno 1125],” L’Istria, vol. 7 (1852), unpaginated; based on an unknown codex owned by a Nicolo de Madonizza of Koper, but certainly a later copy of C.
Pietro Kandler (ed.), Codice diplomatico istriano, 2nd ed. (Trieste 1986), doc. 128, p. 255; based on Carli, but a highly flawed copy, the one edited in journal L’Istria was of much better quality, raising the question of why the editors of the 2nd edition of CDI chose this flawed edition over the much better one published by the same Kandler in 1852.
FIM Edition
Diplomatic edition based on C, including the subsequently appended notarial certification given in italics; readings differing from Carli’s and Kandler’s 1852 edition are reported in the critical apparatus.

The charter is of extreme importance in the context of the history of Aquileian patriarchate as it features the very first mention of Maynard as the advocate of the Church of Aquileia, the Meinardus advocatus being identified as Count Maynard I of Gorizia, the progeny of the noble house that would continue to hold the office of Aquileian advocates as their hereditary title for centuries to come.

In the context of Istrian history, the recipient, St. Peter's monastery in Karst, is the same monastic institution that Count Ulrich II of Weimar donated to Patriarch Ulrich I Eppenstein and the Church of Aquileia in 1102 (see the donation charter here).

The language of the charter and the surviving text is markedly jumbled; whether the charter was originally written in bad Latin or whether this is a consequence of later copying cannot be inferred - most probably it is a combination of both factors.

The list of the witnesses is broken into two sections, the first featuring only a nameless provost of Cividale, the second a list of eight witnesses, plus another two witnesses following the scribal completion line. Perhaps the original charter featured a list of witnesses in two columns and the subsequent copyist transcribed it without paying much attention to the outline.

The monastery of St. Peter, together with its mill in Buzet, will be donated to the Venetian monastery of St. Nicholas of Lido by Gerard's successor, Peregrine I, in 1133 (edited here). This donation will be confirmed by Patriarch Wolfger in 1205 (edited here).
